Walkable Celebration Florida Real Estate
By Mary Luster

South of real estate in Windermere, Florida, a modern adaptation of early 20th-century architectural style of downtown Celebration FL real estate welcomes permanent residents and visitors with tall waving palms and glistening water features.  Directly connected to Walt Disney World, the pedestrian-friendly master-planned community of Celebration, Florida offers several distinct neighborhoods that are referred to as Villages.

North Village is the closest to the downtown area.   Other neighborhoods of homes in Celebration FL including Celebration Village, West Village, Lake Evalyn, South Village, East Village, Aquila Reserve, and Artisan Park.  Constructed in phases since 1996, these beautiful Celebration FL subdivisions also include rental homes.  (Ask about our Celebration property management and other homes in the southwest Orlando, Florida area.)

Designed as a quintessential American town in Osceola County, real estate in Celebration is mostly residential with a downtown business district.  Downtown Market Street awakens during many community events throughout the year.  The televised Great American Pie Festival brings out the community as does the exotic car festival, the Posh Pooch festival, A Flashback 4th of July, and Christmas events featuring bubbles instead of snow.  All of the town’s churches celebrate during the Fall Faith Festival and several newer festivities such as Oktoberfest and “A Taste of Celebration” fill in the calendar.

In addition to regular events, there are a variety of dining options with world-class restaurants and specialty food stores offering international cuisine.  Tourists and residents alike are out for a bite at Market Street Café, Seito Sushi, Sherlock’s, Café D’Antonio, and other eateries.  People stroll along the promenade, and browse in bookstores, galleries, boutiques, and unique clothing shops.

Walking towards the big Water Tower in North Village, people also meander down Celebration Avenue to a small shopping plaza and on to the residential areas past the Celebration golf course.  Celebration Place is a commercial road that almost connects the two distinct sections of the Celebration Boulevard, one of which leads to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.  The other accesses the Georgetown condos, a community pool, and some soccer fields.

When Disney Development spearheaded the development of 4,900 acres of land in the southern portion of the Reedy Creek Improvement District during the 1990s, it contracted with Cooper, Robertson & Partners and Robert A.M. Stern to draw up the master plan.  Although Disney is still present in some of the town’s office buildings, it has taken a backseat as the town has now blossomed to over 10,000 residents.  A variety of community organizations maintain the town, each playing a role in the governance.  Combining great schools, health services, technologies, professional business services, and companies, this innovative town promotes a strong sense of community.

The diverse population mix harkens from all parts of the country and includes a large British segment in its storybook-looking pages.  The Streamline Moderne and Art Deco influences, with their sleek lines and sparse but effective ornamentation, complement those rows of Washington Palm trees, garden trellises and white picket fences.  As the town motto says, “You’ve got to see this place!”  Contact Mary Luster at (407) 256-8857 for information about available real estate and rentals in the community.
